Kozhikode, Jun 25 (UNI) The Kozhikode based UL Technology Solutions (ULTS) has been honoured as the best Geographic Information System (GIS) service provider in India.
ULTS won the ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) India Partner of the Year – Solution Deployment Award.

ULTS had designed and implemented solutions for the GIS enabled Supervisory Control and Automated Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for KSEB to ensure uninterrupted power supply to vital institutions and critical areas.
This was implemented in three cities, Trivandrum, Kochi and Kozhikode. The solutions provided by ULTS played the role of middleware to convert geospatial data into input for the SCADA system.
ULTS associated with KWA in Thrissur in the project to map the underground pipelines and depict the same on a GIS enterprise portal to implement an IOT solution and consequently bring down the non-revenue water from 50 to 15 percent.
This was by effective plugging of the pilferage and leakage in the water distribution system which could be monitored by the engineers in Water Department using the enterprise portal.
“The Electricity Department in Odisha has approached ULTS with a requirement similar to that of KSEB.”, said Jake J. Jacob, head of GIS division at ULTS.
“The project implemented for KWA was also facilitated by the Economic Times. Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation is also planning a project similar to that done for KWA.”, he added.
