65 Lakh Poor Names Deleted from Bihar Electoral Rolls: Rahul Gandhi at Sitamarhi Rally

Sitamarhi : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed on Thursday that the names of 65 lakh poor and socially weaker section individuals have been removed from Bihar’s electoral rolls. He made the allegation while addressing a rally in Sitamarhi as part of the ongoing ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’.
Gandhi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission (EC) of attempting to “rob” the people of Bihar of their voting rights. He said that similar attempts to manipulate electoral rolls and suppress votes had been made in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Karnataka, but the people did not allow it to succeed. Now, he warned, the same is being tried in Bihar.
“We have exposed the BJP and the EC, who were indulging in stealing votes… They did it in Maharashtra, Haryana and Karnataka. Now they want to repeat it in Bihar, which we will not allow them to do,” Gandhi stated firmly during the rally.
He also promised to provide further evidence of what he termed “vote chori” (vote theft) in the coming months.
Before the rally, Rahul Gandhi visited the renowned Janaki Temple in Sitamarhi and offered prayers.
