Central Railway forms all women’s team for examination of goods rake at Kalyan Yard

Thane, Jun 10 (UNI) The Central Railway has for the first time formed an all women’s team at Kalyan Goods Yard to carry out intensive examination of freight or goods rake.
One such rake of 44 empty wagons meant for steel loading was examined by the women’s team on June 8, an official release said here on Thursday.
The entire 10-member women team was deployed for under gear examination, air brake testing, examination of under frames, side panels and for on rake attention of defective components and other related repairs.
The intensive examination of the rake was completed within four and half hours. and was made fit for next trip.
The members of the team are Archana Jadhav, Jyoti Damodare, Ashwani Patil, Shweta Suryavanshi, Priyanka Kholekar, Dipali, Sunita, Savita, Sujata and Kushbu.
The CR transported 12.57 million tonnes of freight during April-May 2021, as compared to 7.55 million tonnes during the same period last year, achieving 66.5 per cent increase.
