BJP targets Vikas Aghadi after SC rejects OBC quota in local bodies

Kolhapur, May 30 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP on Sunday renewed its attack on Maha Vikas Aghadi government after the Supreme Court rejected the latter’s review petition on OBC quota in the local bodies.

Addressing a press meet here, state BJP chief Chandrakant Patil asserted that the MVA was not serious in legally pursuing the Maratha or OBC quotas, leading to the Court rejecting both the petitions.

Substantiating his charge, he averred that the Court had asked the MVA to constitute backward commissions for the Marathas and the OBCs but the tripartite alliance was negligent towards the issue.

Asserting that the public won’t forgive the MVA for such coldness, he told that the government has already started to payback as it lost the Pandharpur bypoll to the BJP.
Commenting on party MP Sambhajiraje’s stance on the Maratha quota, he clarified that the BJP would not side with the parliamentarian if he toed the MVA line on the issue.

Lastly, he censured Sena MP Sanjay Raut for advising PM Narendra Modi to self-contemplate.
If Mr Raut would have said this in front of late Bal Thackeray’s portrait, the latter would have slapped him from heavens, he curtly remarked.
