Families of journalists who died of COVID-19 in UP to get Rs 10 lakh aid

Lucknow, May 30 (UNI) In a bid to encourage and honour the tireless and unparalleled contribution of the Journalists and Media workers, on the occasion of ‘Hindi Journalism Day,’ Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced Rs10 lakh aid for family members of journalists who died due to COVID-19.
Expressing his gratitude, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated on Sunday , “From the freedom movement to the present times, Hindi journalism has had an unprecedented contribution in social awakening and nation-building. My Heartfelt greetings to all journalists on Hindi Journalism Day.”

Furthermore, CM Yogi said that the government is committed to provide all support and will continue to encourage the Journalists.

Paying respect and praising the efforts of the journalists, the Chief Minister added that, “During such challenging and testing times, all the Journalists and Media workers have risked their lives to bring to us all the relevant and authentic information. They have worked 24*7 which is commendable.”

It may be recalled that during the second wave of the pandemic, many journalists across the country got infected while on duty and lost their lives, leaving their families helpless. The Yogi Adityanath government on Sunday took the decision to honour their selfless contribution towards the society.

The Yogi government has also announced the launch of the ‘Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana’ with an aim to take complete care of orphaned children during the pandemic. The government will take care of all children who lost their parents to the deadly virus. It will also provide financial assistance of Rs 4,000 per month to the guardians and caretakers of such children till they become adults.
