Central PSUs install 5000 covid beds,1000 ventilators in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, May 20 (UNI) Around 5,000 covid beds and over 1000 ventilators have been installed by the Central Public sector Undertakings in Odisha, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said .
Inaugurating the Ispat Post Graduate Institute and Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) of SAIL at Rourkela through virtual mode from Delhi today ,Mr Pradhan hoped that the hospital will provide better medicare to covid patients and save many lives .
He said in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to set up Covid care centres near oxygen plants, the SAIL has taken the responsibility to set up a 500 bedded covid care centre at Rourkela.
In addition to it the production and supply of liquid oxygen in the Rourkela steel plant has been expedited, the Union Minister said adding over 10,000 tons of medical oxygen from this plant had been supplied to various states including Odisha from April this year.
The SAIL was asked to set up a 100 oxygenated covid bed either at Barbill or at Balaji in Keonjhar district and a 50 oxygenated covid bed at Korda in Sundergarh district.
Mr Pradhan appealed to various corporate houses to join the vaccine campaign and make arrangements to vaccinate their own employees and their family members.
