RSP supplies 1900 MT of Liquid Medical Oxygen to 10 states

Bhubaneswar, Apr 26 (UNI) Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has so far supplied 1900 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to Odisha and nine other states in the country for facilitating treatment of critical covid 19 patients.
An RSP release here today said in the current month, RSP has supplied more than 1900 tonnes of LMO.
On April 22 last RSP had supplied 252 ton of Liquid Oxygen to different states such as Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.
The oxygen units including filling in the tankers are functioning round the clock to provide life-saving oxygen to critically ill patients.
The Prime Minister and the Union Steel Minister are taking stock of the situation regularly.
Meanwhile, RSP has also taken up various measures including
developing various other medical infrastructures like Covid care and quarantine centres to combat the pandemic effectively, both at the Plant and the Township.
An RT PCR testing laboratory for Covid related cases and Plasma bank were set up at IGH.
A 60-bed ICU facility has been developed in the new Super Specialty Hospital for the treatment of critically ill COVID patients in collaboration with the District Administration.
The world-class infrastructure in the Super Specialty Hospital has proved very useful for the region. At present, 47 ICU beds with ventilators have been made operational in the ICUs developed for the purpose and already started functioning.
The procurement process of the ventilators has already started on a war footing basis and very soon it will be installed, RSP sources said.
