Prayagraj : The MahaKumbh 2025 has brought an unprecedented rush to Uttar Pradesh, causing logistical challenges, including a major delay in postal services. For the first time since the COVID-19 lockdown, over 30,000 parcels are stuck at a post office, disrupting deliveries to various countries. The massive crowd influx has overwhelmed local infrastructure, affecting transportation and logistics.

According to postal authorities, the parcels, intended for international destinations, have been held up due to high congestion and operational slowdowns. Many of these packages were supposed to be delivered to countries in Europe, the Middle East, and North America. However, with the roads and transport services struggling to manage the enormous footfall, postal operations have taken a hit.

Officials stated that the backlog is primarily due to restricted movement and heavy security arrangements at key transit points near the MahaKumbh site. The surge in devotees, estimated to be in the millions, has put additional pressure on essential services, including courier and postal networks.

Efforts are underway to resolve the issue, with authorities working to expedite parcel clearance and prioritize urgent deliveries. Special transportation arrangements are being considered to ensure international shipments reach their destinations without further delay.

The MahaKumbh continues to be a historic and spiritually significant event, attracting millions of devotees, saints, and tourists. However, the massive gathering has posed challenges for infrastructure and logistics, with postal services being one of the many sectors facing temporary disruptions. Authorities are hopeful that normal operations will resume soon, ensuring that pending deliveries are completed at the earliest.
