Hyderabad: Around 2500 police personnel including elite Octopus would be deployed for the one-day international cricket match between India-New Zealand which will be held at the Uppal stadium here on Wednesday.
According to Rachakonda Police Commissioner DS Chauhan, foolproof security arrangements were made at the stadium.
In all 2,500 personnel drawn from various police wings including elite Octopus would be deployed at the stadium for security purposes, he said we want to ensure there is no inconvenience to the cricket fans coming to witness the match.
No person would be allowed into the ground before or during the match, he said.
She Teams were being deployed at the stadium and stringent action would be initiated against persons who were found harassing women, he cautioned.
Spectators would be allowed into the stands from 12 noon on Wednesday. “Teams are keeping a watch and anyone found selling the match tickets illegally will be caught and arrested,” Chauhan added.
In view of the First ODI cricket match, which is scheduled on Wednesday at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal here, the traffic police on Tuesday in a release announced to imposing traffic restrictions on certain routes expecting moderate traffic congestion from 0800 hours to 2200 hours in the road stretch starting from Somajiguda to Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
Traffic congestion expected Junctions : Somajiguda, Green Lands, Begumpet, Rasoolpura, CTO, SBH Junction, St. John’s Rotary, Sangeeth Junction, Alugadda Bavi, Mettuguda Junction, Tarnaka, Habsiguda, NGRI and Uppal, the release added. (UNI)
