New Delhi: The Indian and Chinese troops clashed with each other on Friday in Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh leading to injuries to a few personnel on both sides, sources said on Monday.
The PLA troops contacted the LAC in Twang Sector on Friday which was contested by Indian troops in a firm and resolute manner, Indian Army said.
This face-off led to minor injuries to few personnel from both sides, it added.
However, both sides immediately disengaged from the area.
As a follow up of the incident, Indian Army Commander in the area held a Flag Meeting with his counterpart to discuss the issue in accordance with structured mechanisms to restore peace and tranquility.
Informing about the incident, officials also informed that there are certain areas of differing perception along the LAC in the Tawang Sector wherein both sides patrol the area upto their claim lines.
There have been face-offs along the LAC in Arunachal in the past as well. (UNI)
