Rahul’s Yatra gets a shock welcome in MP

Bhopal: In a dramatic political development that left the Congress red-faced at a time when erstwhile party president Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is traversing Madhya Pradesh, the party’s state unit head Kamal Nath’s former media coordinator Narendra Singh Saluja entered BJP ranks here on Friday in Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s presence.
Mr. Saluja created a flutter of sorts by alleging that ex-chief minister Kamal Nath is responsible for the anti-Sikh disturbances of 1984.
Mr. Gandhi’s Yatra continued in the state for the third successive day and he was accompanied by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her spouse Robert Vadra besides their two children. The walk commenced from Khargone district’s Kherda this morning and concluded at Sanawad Bus Stand. He offered worship to the Omkareshwar jyotirlinga and bowed before the holy Narmada.
Meanwhile, the alleged use of anti-India slogans during the Yatra snowballed into a controversy and Mr. Chouhan warned of uncompromising action against the perpetrators. (UNI)
