Chenab White Water Rafting Fest set to boost tourism
Jammu: Aimed at boosting the tourism sector, the Chenab White Water Rafting was inaugurated on Thursday under Back to Village phase-4 on the waters of mighty Chenab River in Prem Nagar’s Shibnote belt of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The event is initiated by the district administration Doda, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan and in coordination with JK Adventure Group and Extreme Adventure Group.
The first day of the festival witnessed overwhelming public response as more than 1000 people from across the district, especially youth, attended the festival.
Around 200 people enjoyed the rafting trip from Prem Nagar Shibnote to Karara.
The DC and SSP Abdul Qayoom, besides other Officers and journalists also enjoyed the Rafting. The festival is being held under the supervision of SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar. Participants also enjoyed the ATB ride at the venue.
It was informed that the activities would continue at the venue till the organizers receive response from the visitors.
The rafting was conducted following all safety standards and the people, especially the youth of the district, enjoyed the whole event. Media Persons were offered free rafting on the first day of the festival.
The participants extended gratitude to the district administration Doda especially DC for taking the innovative initiative for youth engagement and appealed to organize such programs on regular intervals. (UNI)
