Uddhav Thakrey resigns as Maharashtra CM, on Facebook

Supreme Court judgment on Floor Test left no hope for Uddhav to survive

Mumbai/New Delhi: As soon as the trends of arguments in the Supreme Court on Shiv Sena led Maha Vikas Aghadi’s appeal  for stopping Floor Test in the Legislative Assembly were seen going against, Chief Minister decided to abandon the race. CM Uddhav Thakrey conducted a hurriedly called Cabinet meeting, took some sentimental decisions like renaming three ethnic Marathi towns, (Aurangabad, Osmanabad and Pune), to gain some parting points, and then announced the resignation from CM’s port.

The Aghadi government lasted less than two and a half years, a double shock for the partners Sharad Pawar’s NCP and beleaguered Congress Party, unable to stem the downwards fall of the 124-year-old party, which reigned country’s politics most these years and ruled India for 60 out of 74 years since independence.
