12 Active Gangsters in Haryana on STF Radar
Threats to Liquor Traders for Extortion; Police Trace Foreign Locations…..
Chandigarh : The Haryana Special Task Force (STF) has identified 12 active gangsters operating across the state who are now under intense surveillance. These gangsters are allegedly threatening liquor businessmen for extortion and have been found to be operating from locations outside India.
According to senior police officials, several liquor traders across Haryana have recently reported receiving extortion calls and threats, often made through international phone numbers. The callers, believed to be members of organized crime syndicates, have demanded large sums of money and issued threats of violence in case of non-compliance.
The STF, after analyzing call records and conducting technical surveillance, has traced the locations of some of these gangsters to foreign countries, including Canada, the UAE, and the UK. The police are now coordinating with international agencies and Interpol to gather more intelligence and initiate action.
Among the 12 identified criminals, many are already facing multiple charges, including murder, kidnapping, extortion, and arms smuggling. Some of them had escaped the country while on bail or during ongoing investigations. Police believe they continue to operate and control their networks in Haryana through associates and social media platforms.
The STF has intensified its crackdown on these gangster networks. Raids are being conducted at suspected hideouts, and associates of the gangsters are being interrogated. The state police are also reviewing the security of prominent businessmen and traders who could be targets.
A senior STF officer stated, “We have a list of 12 highly active gangsters who are threatening the peace and business environment in Haryana. We are working on both domestic crackdowns and international cooperation to neutralize their operations.”
Liquor traders’ associations have expressed concern over the rising threats and have urged the government to provide better security. Many of them claim that extortion threats have increased over the past six months, and fear of violence is affecting their businesses.
The Haryana Police has also appealed to the public to report any suspicious calls or activities and assured that all complaints will be treated confidentially and acted upon promptly.
