Agartala, Nov 20 (UNI) Former minister of Modi’s cabinet and TMC leader Babul Supriya allegedly faced harassment by BJP cadres in front of Ramnagar police station area in the city on Saturday during poll campaign.
Police denied to make any comment on the issue but said it was a spontaneous reaction from
some localities. However, Babul is unhurt.
According to report, Babul Supriya has gone in Bitarban area in the afternoon for TMC candidate in the minority dominated locality. A group of youths raising slogan of BJP began abusing Babul for deserting the party. They became violent after Babul Supriya got down from the car. Police somehow managed the situation and sent him back from the area.
The police at the last minute cancelled an election rally of TMC in GB area, was scheduled to addressed by West Bengal minister and Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation Firhad Hakim.
TMC convener Subal Bhowmik alleged that the time and place was allotted for them to hold
election meeting. At the eleventh hour, police cancelled it saying BJP has the rally same time at
same venue.
Another TMC rally at Indranagar was attacked by BJP goons where Babul Supriya, Kunal Ghosh
and other senior leaders were in the stage. Police failed to control the miscreants and compelled
TMC to wind up the meeting and escorted them back, Bhowmik alleged.

nothing rather openly working for BJP and shielding the criminals. But we shall fight till the last,” Bhowmik added.
