Journalist Club registers case against four scribes for propagating Fake news

Phagwara, Oct 10 (UNI) On a complaint lodged by the Journalist Club (JC), Phagwara the city police on Sunday registered a case under section Information Technology Act against four scribes identified as Hardip, Vinod, Kuldip and Amar on the charges of defaming media fraternity by telecasting/playing fake news against a journalist (without quoting any name) on social media and portals.
Police said today that the club members alleged that the accused had leveled corruption and fraud charges to the tune of Rs 16 lakhs against a journalist.

SSP Mr Khak said the case was registered only after detailed investigations by SP Phagwara Sarabjit Bahia and on the advice of District Attorney (Legal).

The police are investigating the matter in detail. Mr Khakh also appealed to the media-fraternity to work in complete transparency.
