Participation of women important to make villages corona free: Thackeray

Sangli, Jun 7 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday asserted that it is important to involve women from each family along with the village Sarpanchs in making the villages free of corona.
Taking note of experiment in the Mohityache Vadgaon village in the district to make the village corona free, he said that in an attempt to make the village corona free, the Sarpanch and the members took women from all families in the village into confidence.
Interacting with village sarpanchs via video conferencing at the district collector’s office here, Mr Thackeray said, “We have been fighting corona for last one-and-a-half year. At end of first corona wave, the second wave, far more deadlier than the previous one, hit the state in which many people have lost their family members. Amidst the pandemic, some sarpanchs of the
villages are working hard to control the pandemic in their villages by implementing all Covid-related suggestions.”
He appealed the people to follow all Covid-related guidelines to control the spread of pandemic.
