Ajit Pawar denies having made any controversial remark about Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj

Mumbai: Maharashtra State Opposition leader Ajit Pawar on Tuesday said that he has not made any controversial remark in respect of ‘Swarajya Rakshak’ Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and said that the concept of ‘Swarajya Rakshak’ is comprehensive, all-inclusive, and suits the work of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Pawar said that he is still standing by his statement.
Addressing a press conference here today Mr. Pawar said “in order to make the Governor and the BJP’s vociferous leaders who constantly insult great men, and to divert the attention of the people from their irresponsibility, the BJP has hatched a conspiracy to agitate against me. History modifiers or issue-wise amendments should be made on the basis of objective ancient texts.”
Pawar added “bring the true history in front of you. It would be useful for the enlightenment of the people. But heating the atmosphere in the state for political purposes and doing politics of hatred will never be tolerated”
Mr. Pawar further said that we have utmost respect for the protector of the self-rule, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. This is the reason why in the last budget of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government had announced to give a fund of Rs. 250 crores for the construction of memorials dedicated to the workers of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Pune district, Vadhu, Budruk and Tulapur.
