New Year celebs create huge jam in Mcleodganj, Dharmshala

Dharamshala: A huge rush of visitors from all over the country and abroad was seen at Mcleodganj, the seat of Tibetan Government in Exile and a tourist hill town, who arrived here to celebrate the New year Day.
Visitors arrived here today to enjoy New Year’s Day with the entrance of 2023 at Mcleodganj and Dharàmshala in Kangra valley the tourists have arrived here from different parts of the country and the world.
The last day of the year 2022, however, remained dry and sunny so the hope of the visitors got shattered who were expecting a snowfall on new year.
Traffic jam was witnessed at Mcleodganj and at Kangra on way to Dharàmshala. Some tourists had to go on foot in view of the traffic jam Mcleodganj.
The vehicles were seen moving with a sanils paceon the road to the tourist resort.
Ashwani Bamba, President Hotel owners Association told UNI that there was full booking in the hotels at Mcleodganj and Dharàmshala and the hotels were decorated to greet the visitors and try New Year both. Bamba however said that the rope way was constructed to relieve the surface transport from burden but it seems that it was futile exercise. He that Rs.450 per person one way was looking cumbersome for an ordinary Indian tourist.
He expressed shock that the Khada Danda road which was being used by the e local taxies and local residents was damaged six months and was left unusable thus pushing the traffic pressure again only on one road that results in traffic jam.
Bamba demanded the reduction in rope way rates and change in the timings of the rope way too. (UNI)
