CM Sukhu alleges of plans for leakage of more papers of JOA(IT)

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu lashed out at former BJP government for turning a blind eye over involvement of Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Selection Commission in leaking more question papers of other recruitment examination going to be held in future.
Mr. Sukhu convened a press conference at Peterhoff here on Tuesday to reveal number of scams going on since previous BJP government and said during SIT search in home of HPSSC Employees three questions papers including entrance examination of Junior Auditor, computer operator and future JOA(IT) examinations were recovered.
He said Junior Auditor examination was scheduled for January 1, 2023. Finding of specimen of questions paper in the house of Uma Azad posted as Superintendent shows that questions paper was simultaneously or separately being leaked by the Employees which may be known to all others members and chairman of the Commission

“SIT has recovered Rs 6.40 lakh cash during the raid,” he said. He said this revelation brought the role of all members and officers under scanner and it also indicates that many others have been recruited under similar scams of paper leak and confidence was lost on the Commission forcing government to suspend entire exercise.
He said all examinations being conducted by the Commission in the future have to be suspended for an indefinite time as after having report of levels of scams it would take 30 to 35 days to announce further details of examination schedule. The examination is not suspended completely and information about it to be released soon.
Questioning the involvement and role of previous government on the fresh papers leak cases he said all examination held by Commission in past and present and recruitments was suspended as many others could have been appeared in the past examination with getting assistance of leaked questions paper. He said he held a meeting of Police officers on December 12 a day after taking oath of CMO and constituted SIT which successfully unfolded the JOA(IT) paper leak on December 23 for the examination to be held on December 25.
CM Sukhu also stated that during the course of investigation, SIT found that the son of arrested Employees claimed that he tried to sell question paper of JOA IT. A deal to sell question papers for Rs 2.50 lakh was made, which State Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau got input about. He said the way the police recruitment was held during the BJP and question paper are being leaked shows that Former Jai Ram Thakur Government turned a Nelson’s eye to it to allow carrying out of the illicit trafficking of question paper, playing with the future of 14 lakh unemployed youth most of whom are poor and preparing honestly for these examinations.
He said the BJP, despite having information of these scams, is closing its eyes and has cheated 14 lakh youth who want job security. He said his government is taking action against those found involved in the paper leak case of commission under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and relevant sections of IPC.
He said the current government would not shut its eye to the level of recruitment process which should be highly transparent and erode people’s faith towards such paper leak, the entire recruitment process needs to be brought under the scanner of probe. He said the government would ensure to reschedule all future examinations and interviews in the next 60 days.
