Covid: Deputy CM sounds alert, asks to step up vigil

Lucknow: With rising cases of corona in China, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak on Wednesday issued an alert in the state and has directed to step up vigil at the airports.
Pathak, who holds the charge of Health department, has directed arrangements from test to treatment. He has directed that testing of the people returning from infection affected countries should be done.
The Health Minister has directed that genome sequencing of patients testing Covid positive should be done so that the new variant of the virus could be detected. He has directed all the Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of the state and the officers to the Medical Education department to step up the vigil. He has directed that passengers having symptoms like flu and fever should be identified and samples of suspects should be taken and tested. He has asked the health department to prepare a list of the people who have returned from a foreign trip and to monitor them for 12 to 14 days.
Pathak has asked that arrangements be made to admit Covid infected patients. It has been directed to make adequate arrangements of oxygen, RT-PCR test, CT scan, X-ray and pathological test along with mask, PPE kit, gloves and medicines used in treatment.
He said that the risk of infection has increased again in China and by taking precautions a person can save him or herself from the Covid. He said that people should avoid going to crowded places and use masks whenever they step out of their house. (UNI)
