Bridge Champ’ship: Sujit & Swapan emerge joint winners of Shree Cement Weekly

Kolkata: Experienced campaigner Sujit Bhattacharjee and Swapan Some, after 12 rounds of keen competition, jointly emerged as the champions of 4th edition in Shree Cement Weekly Pairs Bridge Championship each collecting 234.5 (two thirty-four point five) total match points (MPts),
West Bengal Bridge Association announced here on Thursday. Sukanta Das came third, scoring 197 MPts and was followed by octogenarian Kamlesh Gupta (183 MPts) while Dipankar Mondal and Pratip Kumar Mandal finished joint fifth (182.5 MPts) in the edition which was held online.
Though the championship was played in pairs, each player was allowed to change his or her partner in different rounds. The MPs earned by the player were shared and calculated individually after 12 rounds of play in each edition. (UNI)
