Sensex continues downslide on 3rd day, slips 454 points
Maruti, AxisBank, Tata Steel were a few gainers on the graph
Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Monday plunged 454.67 points at 61,208.71 in the opening trade as selling was seen across the board.
The Nifty too slipped 138.50 points at 18,293.50.
The Sensex registered an intra-day high and low at 61,456.33 and 61,116.99 points respectively.
The Nifty recorded the intra-day high and low at 18,262.30 and 18,146.85 respectively.
The Mid Cap fell by 0.20 per cent while the Small Cap rose by 0.03 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 5 advanced while 25 declined.
The losers were Bajaj Finance by 1.53 per cent to Rs 6,683, Reliance Industries by 1.52 per cent to Rs 2,558, HDFC by to 1.35 per cent to Rs 2,631, ITC by 1.24 per cent to Rs 336.60 and TCS by 1.25 per cent to Rs 3,300.
The gainers were Maruti Suzuki by 0.53 per cent to Rs 8,910, Axis Bank by 0.61 per cent to Rs 864.45, Hind Unilever by 0.43 per cent to Rs 2,493.90 and Tata Steel by 0.24 per cent to Rs 105.75. (UNI)
