Washim/Nagpur: Congress senior leader Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday lashed out at Central government and said condition of roads in Maharashtra and Bihar is very poor.
Jairam Ramesh, who is walking with Rahul Gandhi in “Bharat Jodo Yatra”, in Washim, said the condition of roads in Maharashtra and Bihar is equally bad and for that central government is responsible.
Launching a scathing attack on Modi government over the road constructions, Jairam Ramesh said he experienced difficulty while walking on the roads in Maharashtra.
Speaking to reporter in Washim, the AICC general secretary further said there is a minister in the Modi government who always boasts of his work saying Maharashtra is number one in investment but in fact the condition of roads in Maharashtra and Bihar is alike and is very pathetic and it is central government which is fully responsible for the sorry state of the roads prevailing in the states, Ramesh said.
“We are walking 25 km every day and have walked more than 100 km in Marathwada and Vidarbha regions. We experienced so much trouble walking on roads , the former central minister said adding that we did not experience such a situation when the Yatra passed via Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh”.
