‘UNITY IN DIVERSITY’ celebrated in Frankfurt on Sardar Patel Jayanti !

Frankfurt: India’s National Unity Day was celebrated on 30.10.2022 on banks of river Main in front of ECB European Central Bank Building, Frankfurt am Main by CGI – Consulate General of India, FOI – Friends of India,

(CGI initiative that brings together all vereins under CGI Frankfurt Jurisdiction) & with collaboration
of EUF – European Union Frankfurt. India’s Unity of Diversity was displayed by participation of more
than 400 diaspora members representing union of Indian associations that represented India’s
multicultural and multi-lingual ethos.
The event was inaugurated with the welcome speech of Dr Amit Telang (CGI, Frankfurt am Main) &
Mr. Klaus Klipp (Chairman, Europa union, Frankfurt am Main) followed by singing of patriotic songs in
different Indian languages by enthusiastic members of Indian Diaspora and Floral tribute to the Iron
Man of Bharat ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’ recognizing his seminal contribution in integration of more
than 500 princely states in India, his strong leadership in freedom’s struggle and his unwavering faith
in unity of Mother India by the representing association leaders and community members.
Childrens participated in the Fancy dress and presented themselves as Freedom Fighters of India.
Human chain was formed by the Indian Diaspora & International Guests to show the ‘Unity in Diversity’ and underlining strong bond of friendship between India and Europe based on our common values of freedom and democracy.

Reports of celebrations of Sardar Patel Jayanti as India’s National Unity Day were also received from other major cities of Europe.
