Russian DefMin. Sergei discusses Ukraine with Pentagon chief Austin

Moscow: Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held a phone call with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Sunday to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
The two ministers held a similar call on Friday, with Austin emphasizing the importance of maintaining lines of communication amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
“On October 23, 2022, a phone call took place between Russian Defense Minister Gen. Shoigu and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. The chiefs of defense agencies discussed the situation in Ukraine,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, Shoigu discussed the conflict in Ukraine in separate phone talks with his French, Turkish, and UK counterparts. The Russian minister expressed his concerns over Ukraine’s possible use of a so-called dirty bomb, an explosive device containing radioactive material. (UNI/SPUTNIK)
