Hayden AI joins New York City’s MTA to deploy world’s 1st Autonomous Traffic System

Kochi: Hayden AI, a global leader in artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, has been awarded a contract with New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to install as many as 500 interior-mounted automated bus lane enforcement (ABLE) AI-powered camera systems in the coming months.
On October 3, Hayden AI ABLE systems were activated on the Q44-SBS, marking the first of nine MTA routes to be activated with ABLE by the end of the year, a statement said on Friday.
The MTA is responsible for public transportation in the New York City and is the largest public transit authority in the United States, carrying over 5 million passengers on an average weekday systemwide.
This innovative technology was designed and developed by Hayden AI’s co-founder and Executive Vice President, Vaibhav Ghadiok, and the team of experts who report to him.
The main objective of this platform is to clear bus lanes from illegally parked vehicles so that riders can reach their destinations more quickly, smoothly, and safely.
MTA bus routes with ABLE have experienced improvements in bus speed and reliability, resulting in increased ridership.
Commenting on the contract, Vaibhav Ghadiok, Co-Founder, EVP of Engineering, Hayden AI said, “We deeply value our partnership with the MTA and are committed to delivering AI-powered data and insights to improve the ridership experience of New York’s transit system.”
He added, “We look forward to leveraging our AI-powered computer vision technology to enhance the ridership experience for millions of riders in New York.”
Mr. Ghadiok and his team are currently working on piloting this technology in cities across the world. This technology has strong international appeal with opportunities in Canada, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia.
Being an Indian, Vaibhav feels strongly that such automated traffic management should be adopted in India, especially in cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad to improve bus speed and make vehicle traffic safer and more reliable.
Mr. Ghadiok has dedicated his career to AI and robotics and had innovated several novel technologies, including the first visually guided autonomous drone and large-scale real-time collaborative HD mapping for highly automated vehicles.
