Bhandarkar brings feel-good women empowerment flick ‘Babli Bouncer’

New Delhi: ‘Babli Bouncer’, a light-hearted movie with the theme of women empowerment, is all set for the release on Disney+Hotstar, today.
With the vision of National Award-winning Director Madhur Bhandarkar, who has made several hit female-centric movies, ‘Babli Bouncer’ stars the popular youth icon Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role.
The movie, which revolves around a small-town girl, conveys a message that even less educated girls can carve out their place in society, that too in a big metropolis.
Ever since the release of the film’s trailer, audiences have been looking forward to watching the story unfold on the screen.
Bhandarkar has earlier delivered a number of hit female-centric movies like Tabu-starrer ‘Chandni Bar’, Raveena Tandon-starrer ‘Satta’, Konkona Sen Sharma-led ‘Page 3’, Bipasha Basu-focussed ‘Corporate’, Priyanka Chopra-starrer ‘Fashion’ and Kareena Kapoor-led ‘Heroine’.
Talking about directing a subject like ‘Babli Bouncer’, Bhandarkar says, “I am a very humorous person in real life. Its just that after ‘Chandni Bar’, people assumed that I love to do dark cinema. But when I got ‘Babli Bouncer’, I wanted to make a comedy, slice of life film.”
He said he wanted to showcase a world of bouncers. “It’s an interesting world and how these people come from their villages. On top of that, after the first pandemic hit us so badly, I felt we really need a comedy film that people can watch with their family,” the ace-Director added.
Tamannaah’s character as Babli is bold and brave. She rides a bullet, lifts heavy weights and can do anything a man can!
Well, after watching Tamannaah riding a bullet so swiftly in the trailer of ‘Babli Bouncer’, one can surely say that Bhandarkar knows how to bring the best out of his actors.
The coming-of-age feel good story with a slice-of-life comedic tone set in the real ‘bouncer town’ of North India – Asola Fatepur will see Tamannaah in a never seen before avatar, as Babli Bouncer.
Produced by Star Studios and Junglee Pictures, ‘Babli Bouncer’ is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and stars Tamannaah, in the lead along with Saurabh Shukla, Abhishek Bajaj and Sahil Vaid in pivotal roles. Concept, story and the screenplay by: Amit Joshi, Aradhana Debnath and Madhur Bhandarkar.
