Tejashwi gives 60 days ultimatum to improve conditions at govt hospitals

Patna: Taking serious cognizance of mismanagement in government hospitals, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, who is also holding the health portfolio, gave an ultimatum of 60 days to the government hospitals of all categories across the state for improving the condition and health services.
During a meeting attended by senior health department authorities, doctors, civil surgeons of all districts, superintendents of all government medical colleges and DPMs Tejasvi Yadav asked them on Wednesday to improve the health services including health and hygiene at all Primary Health centres, district government hospitals and medical colleges in the state. He also asked them to ensure medicine supply at government hospitals and warned that negligence would not be tolerated at any cost. Tejashwi asked to set up help desk and complaint desk at district government hospitals and other major hospitals with 24 hours availability of adequate staff. He also instructed to simplify the process related to admission of patients, their reference to other hospitals, availability of ambulance and issuance of death certificate. He asked to immediately fill the vacant posts at an accelerated pace for improving the health services. Tejashwi said that financial regularity, bribes and corruption would not be tolerated at any cost in the health sector and maintained that the services would be evaluated on the basis of performance.
