Himachal Cong. plunges into Election mode for Assembly polls
Party seeks applications for tickets by Sept 1
Hamirpur (HP): Amidst the crisis in the party at the highest level after the resignation of Ghulam Navi Azad from the party, the Himachal Pradesh Congress Party has intensified preparations for the upcoming assembly elections.
State Congress has sought applications from the candidates of the party wishing to contest the assembly elections on plain paper or through email.
Notably, the state assembly elections are due in the month of November this year.
The candidate must send his/her application along with a complete resume. In this, the candidate’s full name, postal address, assembly constituency from where the election is to be contested, caste, educational qualification, and other party-related details and experience will have to be applied. State Congress Organization General Secretary Rajneesh Kimta said Friday online applications can be sent by e-mail (email@example.com) from 5:00 pm. on Friday, June 26 or on plain paper till September 1.
Written applications can also be sent directly to State Congress Headquarters Rajiv Bhawan or District Congress Committees concerned. No application fee is charged.
He said that the State Congress President MP Pratibha Singh took this decision in a meeting held in New Delhi on Friday along with All India Congress Working Committee member and in-charge of state affairs, Rajeev Shukla. During this, the strategy of the party regarding the elections was also discussed.
Kimta said this time, making the process of party ticket application for the state assembly elections simple and common, it has been decided to keep it free in which any leader or worker of the party can apply for a party ticket for the assembly elections. (UNI)
