Netaji among rare breed of patriots: Govind Thakur

Hamirpur (HP): Stating that there are rare patriots like Netaji Subhash Chander Bose, HP Education Minister, Govind Thakur said on Monday that a big statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose would be installed in Hamirpur Government College.
Thakur said that steps would also be taken to construct a huge auditorium in the local college.
He was addressing a national level seminar on rewriting the Role of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the Freedom Struggle organized jointly by Thakur Ram Singh History Research Institute, Neri and Maulana Abul Kalam Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata.
Speaking on occasion he said that Subhash Chandra Bose had the distinction of giving a tough fight to the Britishers and to prepare the Indian people for complete freedom that India got in 1947.
He said that there is a huge craze among the youth of Hamirpur to join the army and for that the policy of recruiting youth as Agni veers would prove to be highly beneficial in the coming years for the young generation.
He said that the National Education Policy (NEP) would prove to be a milestone in the education world and efforts were in the making to implement it in true letter and spirit all over the state.
Local BJP MLA, Narendra Thakur said that within a short span of 48 years, Netaji had set an example in front of the world. Netaji did not get the respect he deserved after India’s independence, he lamented.
He said that after Narendra Modi’s government came to the center, Netaji’s sacrifices got due respect.
Director of Thakur Ram Singh History Research Institute, Dr. Chet Ram Garg said that Subhash Chandra Bose sacrificed his whole life for the freedom struggle and he would be remembered for time immemorial. (UNI)
