Two boxers Mohd, Husamuddin and Nitu Ghanghas book Semi-final berth in C’Wealth Games’22

India has 6th position in medals ranking with 5 golds, 3 silvers

Birmingham: Two-time world youth champion Nitu Ghanghas and men’s featherweight boxer Mohammad Hussamuddin entered the semifinal of their respective weight class here on Wednesday and assured medal for India.
Ghanghas defeated Nicole Clyde in the quarterfinal of the women’s 45-48kg minimum weight category to guarantee herself atleast a bronze.
The 21-year-old Indian pugilist will be up against Priyanka Dhillon of Canada in the semifinal to seal the spot in the final.
Mwn’s 54-57kg featherweight boxer Hussamuddin defeated Tryagain Morning Ndevelo of Namibia in a close match to advance to the semifinal.
Hussamuddin won the bronze medal in Gold Coast 2018 and can go atleast one step better this time around with a victory in the semifinal.
