Centre sanctions ex-gratia for kins of cloudburst deceased at Amarnath shrine

Srinagar: The central government has sanctioned an ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh in favour of next of kin of those who lost their lives in the incident of flash flood near holy Amarnath Cave on June 8.
The seriously injured have also been sanctioned Rs 50,000 each, an official spokesman said on Monday.
At least 15 yatris died and 55 others were injured when a cloudburst triggered flash floods near the Cave Shrine on July 8 washed away tented accommodation of the pilgrims besides Langars.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sanctioning ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh in favour of Next of Kin of all those who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident of flash-flood near Amarnath cave on July 8.
The Prime Minister Office has also sanctioned Rs. 50,000 each in favour of persons who received serious injuries in the incident.
“I am grateful to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for sanctioning the ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of those who lost their loved ones in the tragic incident of flash-flood near Shri Amarnath ji cave”, said the Lt Governor.
Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board has already disbursed Rs 4 Lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. (UNI)
