A Criminal complaint filed against Gotabaya

NGO wants arrests of run-away Prez. in Singapore, along with his army brass

Colombo: International Truth and Justice Project, an NGO, has filed a criminal complaint against former Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Singapore, demanding his immediate arrest for alleged “war crimes”, media reports said.
The NewsWire reported that lawyers from ITJP have submitted a 63-page criminal complaint to the Attorney General of Singapore, stating that Rajapaksa had committed “grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions during the civil war in 2009, when he was the Secretary of Defence” and that these crimes were “subject to domestic prosecution in Singapore under the universal jurisdiction”.
The complaint argued that Rajapaksa committed “grave breaches to the Geneva Conventions and violations of international humanitarian law and international criminal law during the civil war in Sri Lanka. These include murder, execution, torture and inhuman treatment, rape and other forms of sexual violence, deprivation of liberty, severe bodily and mental harm, and starvation”, the report said.
