62 Thane corporators’ jolt to Uddhav Sena

Mumbai: Shiv Sena President, Uddhav Thackeray received another jolt on Thursday, as 66 Shiv Sena corporators of Thane Municipal Corporation joined Chief minister Eknath Shinde group.
As many as 66 Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) corporators, led by former mayor Naresh Maskey, visited Shinde’s official residence ‘Nandanvan’ and joined his group

and decided to work under the leadership of Chief Minister Shinde.
Till today, for Shiv Sena, Shinde was in charge of Thane district. Therefore, Shinde has one-sided dominance in Thane.
Ever since Eknath Shinde revolted against the Shiv Sena, there was speculation that a large section of the Shiv Sena in Thane district would split and finally it has come true.
Shiv Sena has 67 councilors in Thane Municipal Corporation, NCP has 34, BJP has 23, Congress has 3 and MIM has 2.
As the tenure of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has already ended and an administrator has been appointed. (UNI)
