Tehran: Iran has applied to join the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, China, India, South Africa) group, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Monday.
“The Iranian foreign minister announced his application for membership… The Chinese president invited President [Ebrahim] Raisi, and he attended and delivered a speech.
I hope that we can continue to be useful, and BRICS will add value to us,” the spokesman said, as quoted by the ministry in its Telegram channel. (UNI/SPUTNIK)
