Over 2,500 feared dead in Afghanistan earthquake, of 6.1 scale

Officials claim 1100 dead and over 1600 injured in Khost and Paktika provinces

Kabul: The death toll from the earthquake in Afghanistan reached 1,100, more than 1,650 people were injured, the Tolo News broadcaster reported.
Earlier, Amin Huzaifa, the head of the culture and information department of the Paktika province, told Sputnik that the death toll had surpassed 1,000 people, more than 1,500 people were injured.
It is noted that the number of victims may increase.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) previously reported a 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan. Severe destruction was reported in the provinces of Paktika and Khost bordering Pakistan. (UNI)
