Bishnoi questioned over murder of Moose Wala

New Delhi: Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been taken into custody and interrogated by Delhi Police Special Cell in connection with murder of singer-turned-politician Congress leader Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moose Wala, Tihar Jail sources said.
According to sources, some other gangsters’ names have also cropped up in this case and they will also be questioned.
It is said that Shahrukh, who is in Tihar jail, has also been questioned by Delhi Police in this connection. Shahrukh was arrested a few months back by Delhi police Special Cell from Punjab.
On Sunday, in a daylight murder, Moose Wala was shot dead by unknown assailants near Jawahar Ke village.
An FIR has been registered against the killers under Sections 302, 302 and 341 of IPC and Sections 25 and 27 of Arms Act.
In a joint operation, Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) and Punjab STF on Monday detained six persons from Uttarakhand for allegedly providing support to the assailants.
Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, a close aide of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, in a post on social media site claimed responsibility for the murder of the popular singer.
Today at around 0815 hrs, the body of Moose Wala was brought from civil hospital and was kept at his house in the village, where a huge crowd from far-flung places, especially youth, reached to pay tributes.
Carrying photographs of Sidhu Moose Wala, one of the most popular and prolific singer-songwriter, youth raised slogans ‘Sidhu Moose Wala Amar Rahe’.
His female fans too came in large numbers to attend the cremation.
The mother of the singer combed his hair for the last time and his father tied the turban.
His body was taken to his fields, where his last rites were performed by his father, in the singer’s favourite tractor 5911, which was decorated by his family members with flowers and his photograph.
The family of Moose Wala got emotional on seeing thousands of his fans during cremation and thanked them.
His father Balkour Singh removed his turban and bowed in front of the huge crowd, which gathered to attend the funeral. (UNI)
