BJP believes in ‘justice to all, appeasement to none’: Nadda

New Delhi/Kangra: BJP President JP Nadda on Monday said the BJP believed in “justice to all appeasement to none”, and stressed that the benefit of government schemes have reached all socio-religious groups.
Asked about the ongoing controversy around the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi, Nadda said, “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas… we are working on these principals… Media can raise any issue, people listen to them”.
Asked about BJP’s stand on the controversies erupting around several mosques in India, he said, “We have always talked about cultural issues, but these issues are decided by the Constitution of India and the court. Court and Constitution will decide, BJP only implements it in retrospect.”
“We had gone for a resolution on Ramjamabhoomi in Palampur resolution (at BJP National Executive meet). After that we have passed no resolution,” he added.
BJP’s national leadership had passed a resolution for the first time to construct Ram temple during its national executive meeting held at Palampur town of Kangra district in 1989.
Asked about Uniform Civil Code (UCC), days after Uttarakhand announced formation of a committee to study the subject, the BJP President said, “They have thought about it, they are discussing it. As far as we are concerned, we have always said everyone should be seen as equals, our broad outline is justice to all appeasement to none. This is our basic principle and we work on it”.
In response to another question regarding a “group of people” still feeling alienated, he said, “As a political party, we believe we will include everyone.”
“We should be ready for it is the first step, we are ready for it… In a society some respond earlier, some respond later, some respond after decades, some respond when much time has passed… it depends on them. We believe ‘strong nation, one nation’, and everyone’s participation should be there,” he said.
Nadda was addressing a press conference on the completion of eight years of the Narendra Modi government at the BJP headquarters here.
Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani, Anurag Thakur, and party leaders Arun Singh, and CT Ravi were also present.
