BJP-JJP coalition govt will continue to work strongly for next two and half years: Dushyant
Chandigarh, May 8: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Sunday said that BJP-JJP coalition government is Haryana is running successfully and will work with more strength in its remaining term of two and half years. Both BJP and JJP will fight the next Lok Sabha and assembly elections together, he told reporters during a press conference here. Chautala said that when the coalition government was formed in Haryana, opposition parties made tall claims about the falling of the government within one, two or six months. He said that every political party is preparing for local bodies elections and BJP-JJP will also take a formal decision on how to contest the polls. He said that it is an internal matter of both parties to finalize the formula for fighting the elections. The Dy. Chief Minister said that discussions are going on regarding the preparations of elections and whatever both the organizations will decide, it will fight accordingly in municipal and panchayati raj elections. Lashing out at Congress leader Randeep Surjewala, he said that if Surjewala is really concerned to lower the prices of petrol and diesel, he should first ensure reduction of the prices in Congress ruled states like Rajasthan and Maharashtra. He said that the Haryana government had already reduced the prices of petrol and diesel. Chautala said that Surjewala should see that today in Maharashtra where Congress is in alliance with Shiv Sena and NCP and in Rajasthan where Congress is in power, why these governments failed to reduce the prices. On query of leadership change in the Haryana Congress, he said that the Congress party’s formula of change of guard has failed miserably in Punjab and the results of the changes made in the Himachal Pradesh congress leadership will be out in November this year. He said that elections in Haryana are still two-and-a-half years away and change of leadership in Congress will not work here. Over Panchayati raj elections, the Dy. Chief Minister said that High Court has given permission for the Panchayat elections without staying the new amendments of 2020. He said that orders have been issued to the district administration to settle the objections of the draw and with the disposal of the cases. The government would hold the elections as these tasks are completed. (UNI)
