Mumbai, April 29: ‘Runway 34’ has finally landed. After a hyped-up take off in full throttle, the film has successfully landed meeting expectations as initial critical and audience reviews have been largely positive. Backed by the powerhouse star-studded duo of Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan, the film avoided turbulence and flying amidst bad weather and low visibility, not unlike the pilot Devgn was playing. The story is inspired by the 2015 heroic episode of a Doha to Kochi flight that had a narrow escape thanks to the heroics of the pilots who were at its helm. The film, however, has received a share of criticism for being far too inspired by Hollywood aviation flicks with some critics calling the movie a crash landing. However, for its cinematography, acting, pace, screenplay and VFX the film has received ample praise. Projections for opening day bookings and earnings have been high enough to boast of a profit, so on the whole Ajay Devgn’s aviation drama directorial has landed more than successfully. Taking to Twitter, Ajay Devgn tweeted: “The audience are loving the flight they boarded. while captioning a poster of the film which reads “ A blockbuster landing. 9.3/10 on IMDB and 4/5 on Google.” The movie stars Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Rakul Preet Singh, Angira Dhar, Aakansha Singh and CarryMinati.
