Islamabad, April 9: Pakistan National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has refused to allow voting on the no-confidence motion tabled in the National Assembly of Pakistan against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Geo News reported citing sources. Voting on the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan was the fourth item on the day’s agenda and was likely to be held after 8 pm (local time) on Saturday. However, according to local media reports, NA Speaker Asad Qaiser refused to allow the members to cast their votes. Citing sources, Geo News reported that since he [speaker] shares a 30-year relationship with the prime minister, he cannot allow the voting to take place. The session will likely continue till 12 am, while PM Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of the federal cabinet at 9pm, the source added. (UNI)
