Nagaland prepares for 56th Cross-Country Championships

 Kohima, March 23 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister and Convener of the Organizing Committee South Asian Cross-Country Championships (SACCC) and 56th Cross Country Camps. According to official sources the Chief Minister also interacted with the volunteers during the function. Nagaland Co-Convener of the Organizing Committee Abu Metha briefed the Chief Minister on the functioning of the teams working round the clock for the success of the event. In a congratulatory letter to the selected volunteers of the South Asian Cross-Country Championships and 56th National Cross-Country Championships, Abu Metha, Co-Convener, Organizing Committee said it is an honour for all the people involved in organizing the event since it is going to be one of the Nagaland’s biggest sport events and one of the most significant events in the history of Nagaland. According to Metha, the backbone of all the major sports events in the world is volunteers. He reminded the volunteers not only to assist in the execution of their given responsibilities but also an ambassador for India and Nagaland, he said “please keep in mind that we are serving the nation and the cause of the Olympic movement.” He expressed appreciation to the volunteers on behalf of the Organizing Committee led by the Convener Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland, for volunteering and contributing towards the success of the historic event. He thanked them for being a part of the team and for their contributions to the endeavor to write history together. (UNI)
