Hamirpur (HP), March 20: Senior Congress party leader and former Hamirpur MLA, Anita Verma said that BJP always remembered Hamirpur in the election year only, it was reported on Sunday. In a statement, she said that after four years of break in the developmental activities, the Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur had made various announcements for the development of Hamirpur district. However, these announcements would remain only on paper, as no funds had been provided in the budget. She alleged that with the arrival of the election dates, the BJP was now trying to woo the people with lofty announcements that were not going to be fulfilled due to paucity of funds at the disposal of the state government. She said that when the Congress party was in power, then the Congress had done the overall development of the entire Hamirpur district. All the institutes in the Hamirpur district were opened under the Congress governments, whether it is NIT, Sainik School of Sujanpur, Medical College of Hamirpur or other related institutions. She said that it would have been better if the Chief Minister had spoken clearly on the declared and pending for years bus stand in Hamirpur, and the rail line, and the proposed transport town. Verma said that the people of Hamirpur district will never forget the discrimination faced by them under the present government and will wipe out BJP from this district in the coming elections and hand over the reins of the state in hands of the Congress party.
