Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann pay obeisance at Golden Temple

Amritsar, March 13 (UNI) After the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) massive victory in the Punjab Assembly elections, Punjab CM-designate Bhagwant Mann and AAP National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reached ‘Guru Ki Nagri’ Amritsar on Sunday. Both of them along with other leaders of the party paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib, Ram Tirath Mandir and Durgiana Mandir and prayed for prosperity, peace and communal harmony in Punjab as well as the whole world, AAP said in a statement. On reaching Amritsar, AAP leaders Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib and thanked God for AAP’s landslide victory in Punjab and sought blessings to make Punjab happy and prosperous again. They prayed at Harmandir Sahib for progress, prosperity, brotherhood, communal harmony and overall development of Punjab, Punjabiyat and entire humanity. On this occasion, the Gurudwara manager honoured Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal with ‘Siropa’. After Sri Harmandir Sahib, Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal also bowed their heads at the famous Durgiana Mandir and Ram Tirath Mandir. After visiting the temples, both the leaders reached Jallianwala Bagh, where they paid tribute to the freedom fighters (martyrs) by paying homage at the martyrs’ memorial there. They took a pledge to fulfil the dreams of the martyrs and carry forward the flame of revolution. Senior AAP leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, Punjab affairs in-charge Jarnail Singh, Punjab affairs co-in-charge Raghav Chadha, many of the newly elected MLAs, senior leaders and volunteers were present on the occasion. The swearing-in ceremony will be held on March 16 at Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, in Nawanshahr district. AAP on March 10 pulled off a spectacular victory in the Punjab Assembly elections, winning 92 out of total 117 seats.
