The SP chief said that under BJP rule, which had promised to double the income of the farmers and jobs to two crore youths, income of the people has been reduced to half and inflation has doubled. “People have not forgotten the crisis which emerged during Covid period when poor workers were forced to reach their homes on foot. People were deprived of medicines, beds in hospitals and oxygen,” he said. He said that the ‘double engine’ government has disappointed farmers the most. “Farmers were forced to sit on dharna for a year. When the farmers stood up against the farm laws with an eye on UP and Punjab elections the government withdrew them. We want to know why BJP people are in favour of withdrawing the farm laws,” he said. Akhilesh said that the BJP government claims that it did MoUs of Rs 4.5 lakh crore, but where are they? “BJP people changed Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate, they want to change everything. This time the people want to change Chief Minister Baba (Yogi Adityanath),” he said. He said that the SP government gave pensions to poor women. “This time the pension amount will be hiked three times and Rs 1,500 will be given to the poor woman,” he announced. Akhilesh said that the BJP government sold the airport and port and now they are preparing to sell railway stations and defence land. “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas is the most farce slogan,” he said. He said that jobs will come for youths after SP alliance comes to power in the state.
