Ladakh wins national Women’s Ice Hockey Championship 2022

Kaza/Shimla, Jan 20 (UNI) The 9th National Women’s Ice Hockey Championship 2022 ended on Thursday at Ice Hockey Rink Kaza.
National Women’s Ice Hockey Championship 2022, based on best ranking was given to the Union Territory of Ladakh and Chandigarh was declared the runner-up.
The tournament was declared closed by Union Information Broadcasting and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur through video conferencing.
Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said through his video message that I would like to congratulate the Ice Hockey Association of India and Lahaul Spiti for successfully organizing the prestigious National Women’s Ice Hockey Championship 2022.
“In this our young players also got an opportunity to play. Lahaul Spiti is also a very beautiful area and when it is covered with a sheet of snow, it looks even more beautiful,” the Union Minister said.
“I would like to convey my best wishes and congratulations to Dr Ram Lal Markanda and the entire team and the association.”
Here the High Altitude Sports Center is going to be built here. It will have an ice hockey rink. Here our daughters will get an opportunity to play and train.
In future, there would be opportunities to win medals for the country and the state.
Despite the lack of facilities for ice hockey, our sons and daughters have performed brilliantly.
It will be our endeavor that we will continuously improve the facilities for you so that you will get good training and win medals for India, the union minister said.
Union Minister said that he would attend this event in the coming years and get a chance to watch your game and help improve the infrastructure.
ADM Mohan Dutt Sharma honored the winners with the gold medal. On the other hand, the trophy was given to the winning team by Harjindra Jindi, Secretary General, Ice Hockey Association of India.
Commandant Devendra Kumar of ITBP 17th Battalion honored the runners up team with the silver medal.
The trophy to the runners-up team was given by General Secretary Harjindra Jindi.
Along with this, Ice Hockey Association of Himachal Pradesh President Abhay Dogra and General Secretary Rajat Malhotra honored the Delhi team with a bronze medal for securing the third position.
Harjinder Singh Jindi, Secretary General, Ice Hockey Association of India, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
Karma Yeshe Khando, was given the Best Player Award.
Two Spiti players, including jersey number 1 Thinley Bagmo from Kuling village and jersey number eight Rigzin Dolma from Shalkhar village were also honored.
Amit Belbal, coach Chsewang Gyalsan, Noor Jahan, Chhewang Chuskit, Richin Dolma, Ashu, assistant referee Pranav Dogra, Abhimanyu, DP as local support staff were also honored.
