BJP leader climbs water tank, demanding change in candidate

Sambhal, Jan 17 (UNI) Demanding replacement of the party candidate from Chandausi seat in Sambhal district, an officer-bearer of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) climbed atop of an overhead water tank on Monday.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has declared sitting MLA and Minister of State in Yogi government Gulabo Devi as its candidate from the seat. Protesting against this a number of workers and office-bearers have submitted their resignations and have requested the party to send an observer to know their suggestion.
District president of the BJYM Pawan Mukhiya climbed atop an overhead water tank to lodge his protest against the candidature of Gulabo Devi. Mukhiya threw a letter in which he stated that he has been associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad since college days and was deeply hurt with the party naming Gulabo Devi as the candidate.
He has requested the party leadership to change the candidate for the honour of the workers. Later, he was brought down from the tank after several efforts of the police and the local residents.
