SAD’s Cheema condemns AAP for promoting corruption in Punjab elections

Meanwhile AAP announced 5 more candidates for Assembly elections in Punjab

Chandigarh, Jan 9: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday condemned the Aam Admi Party
(AAP) for “promoting corruption” in Punjab elections and urged the Election Commission to take strong

action against the party.
The SAD Senior Vice President Daljit Singh Cheema said here on Sunday that AAP today distributed pamphlets in Patiala rural constituency urging voters to take money from other parties and vote for it. He said this was in gross violation of Election Commission rules. He said was it was even more reprehensible that the pamphlet distributed by AAP sympathizers did not have any name of any printing press or name of the party leader who had released it.

Cheema said the appeal of AAP to voters to take money from other parties was a direct promotion of corruption in the election process. Mr. Cheema said the AAP cadre had already leveled serious allegations against its Convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for selling party tickets for the Punjab elections.
He said that AAP had further asked people to take false oaths for getting money from political parties. He reminded Mr Kejirwal that this was not the culture of Punjab and that the voters of the state could not be purchased with money power. He opined that this tactics of party had exposed its working and that strict action should be taken against it.
Mr Cheema asked the Delhi CM that instead of diverting the attention of the people with such diversionary tactics he should give an explanation about the corruption charges leveled against him.
