Indian cricket legends heap praises on team after historic win vs SA

New Delhi, Dec 30: From Ravi Shastri to Sachin Tendulkar, Indian legends heaped praises on national team for scripting history at Centurion on Thursday.
The Virat Kohli-led side secured their first-ever Test win at Centurion after defeating South Africa by 113 runs in the first of the three-match series, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship.
India started 2021 with history being scripted at Gabba, Australia and ended it with a historic victory at Centurion, South Africa.
Former head coach Shastri took to Twitter, saying, “Wohoo Brisbane, Oval, Lord’s and now Centurion… Congratulations @imVkohli, Rahul Dravid and the entire contingent on becoming the first Asian nation to win at Centurion.”
“Superb bowling by an attack that can pick 20 wickets in a Test match anywhere in the world. Congratulations to Team India on a convincing victory!” said Tendulkar.
Former cricketer VVS Laxman wrote, “Began the year with great resilience at Sydney, followed by an incredible win at the Gabba, the Lord’s win was special and India end the year with a brilliant win at the Centurion. Has been a brilliant Test Match year for Team India. Congratulations on a wonderful win.”
“Dream 2021 for Team India in Test Cricket. Gabba, Lord’s, Oval, Centurion and who can forget the amazing fight to draw at Sydney. Wishing a happy and even better 2022 for Team India,” tweeted Virender Sehwag.
The member of 1983 World Cup-winning India team, Madan Lal said, “Congratulations Team India on your test win great effort well played KL Rahul & great effort by the bowlers team doing well in Tests the credit goes to all the bowlers as we have the ability to pick 20 wickets.”
